Dr. Christine White

As a retired bioarchaeologist, I have a love of the past, and an appreciation of our place in nature during both life and death. I engage my work with human struggle and triumph across time and space,  and ways in which we use landscape/nature to  provide meaning, healing, and sustenance for our spirit. My use of watercolour reflects a personal balancing act among:

1. my identity as a scientist who values the infinite detail of the natural world,
2. my understanding of the how the human spirit interacts with both geological and biological worlds, and
3. the liberties that watercolour itself takes with the page.
